The Seven Trumpets
6 Now the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to blow them.
7 The first angel blew his trumpet,
and
there followed hail and fire, mixed with blood,
and
these were thrown upon the earth.
And a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up,
and all green grass was burned up.
8 The second angel blew his trumpet, and something like a great mountain, burning with fire,
was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood.
9 A third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
10 The third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch,
and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water.
11 The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood,
and
many people died from the water, because it had been made bitter.
12 The fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck,
and
a third of the moon,
and
a third of the stars, so that a third of their light might be darkened,
and
a third of the day might be kept from shining, and likewise a third of the night.
13 Then I looked, and I heard an eagle crying with a loud voice as it flew directly overhead,
“Woe, woe, woe to those who dwell on the earth,
at the blasts of the other trumpets that the three angels are about to blow!”
|
9 And the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star fallen from heaven to earth,
and
he was given the key to the shaft of the bottomless pit.
|
2 He opened the shaft of the bottomless pit, and from the shaft rose smoke like the smoke
of a great furnace,
and
the sun and the air were darkened with the smoke from the shaft.
3 Then from the smoke came locusts on the earth,
and
they were given power like the power of scorpions of the earth.
4 They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any green plant or any tree,
but only those people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.
|
5 They were allowed to torment them for five months, but not to kill them,
and
their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings someone.
|
6 And in those days people will seek death and will not find it.
They will long to die, but death will flee from them.
7 In appearance the locusts were like horses prepared for battle: on their heads were
what looked like crowns of gold; their faces were like human faces,
8 their hair like women's hair, and their teeth like lions' teeth;
9 they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the noise of their wings was like the noise of many chariots with horses rushing into battle.
10 They have tails and stings like scorpions, and their power to hurt people for five months is
in their tails.
11 They have as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit.
His name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek he is called Apollyon.
|
12 The first woe has passed; behold, two woes are still to come.
13 Then the sixth angel blew his trumpet,
and
I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar before God,
14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet,
“Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.”
15 So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour, the day, the month, and the year,
were released to kill a third of mankind.
16 The number of mounted troops was twice ten thousand times ten thousand;
I heard their number.
17 And this is how I saw the horses in my vision and those who rode them:
they wore breastplates the color of fire(red) and of (Blue)sapphire and of (Yellow)sulfur,
and
the heads of the horses were like lions' heads,
and
fire and smoke and sulfur came out of their mouths.
|
18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed,
by
the fire and smoke and sulfur coming out of their mouths.(Cold from the North)
|
19 For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails,(stories)
for their tails are like serpents with heads,(Leaders)
and
by means of them they wound.
|
20 The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues,
did not repent of the works of their hands nor give up worshiping- demons and idols of gold
and
silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk,
21 nor did they repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

The Harvest of the Earth
14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and seated on the cloud one like a son of man, with a golden crown on his head, and a sharp sickle in his hand.
15 And another angel came out of the temple, calling with a loud voice to him who sat on the cloud, “Put in your sickle, and reap, for the hour to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is fully ripe.”
16 So he who sat on the cloud swung his sickle across the earth, and the earth was reaped.
17 Then another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle.
18 And another angel came out from the altar, the angel who has authority over the fire, and he called with a loud voice to the one who had the sharp sickle, “Put in your sickle and gather the clusters from the vine of the earth, for its grapes are ripe.”
19 So the angel swung his sickle across the earth and gathered the grape harvest of the earth and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
20 And the winepress was trodden outside the city, and blood flowed from the winepress,
as high as a horse's bridle, for 1,600 stadia.

[ A Vision of Joshua the High Priest ]
3 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.
2 And the Lord said to Satan,
“The Lord rebuke you, O Satan!
The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you!
Is not this a brand- plucked from the fire?”
|
3 Now Joshua was standing before the angel, clothed with filthy garments.
4 And the angel said to those who were standing before him,
“Remove the filthy garments from him.”
And to him he said,
“Behold, I have taken your iniquity away from you,
and
I will clothe you with pure vestments.”
5 And I said,
“Let them put a clean turban on his head.”
So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with garments.
And the angel of the Lord was standing by.
6 And the angel of the Lord solemnly
assured Joshua,
7 “Thus says the Lord of hosts: If you will walk in my ways and keep my charge,
then you shall rule my house and have charge of my courts,
and
I will give you the right of access among those who are standing here.
|
8 Hear now,
O Joshua the high priest,
you and your friends who sit before you, for they are men who are a sign: behold,
I will bring my servant the Branch.
9 For behold, on the stone that I have set before Joshua, on a single stone with seven eyes,
I will engrave its inscription, declares the Lord of hosts,
and
I will remove the iniquity of this land in a single day.
10 In that day,
declares the Lord of hosts,
every one of you will invite his neighbor to come under his vine
and
under his fig tree.”

Bear One Another's Burdens
6 Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.
2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
3 For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
4 But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor.
5 For each will have to bear his own load.
6 Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches.
7 Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. 8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
10 So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Final Warning and Benediction
11 See with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand.
12 It is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh who would force you to be circumcised, and only in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.
13 For even those who are circumcised do not themselves keep the law,
but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.
14 But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ,
by which the world has been crucified to me,
and
I to the world.
15 For neither circumcision counts for anything,
nor uncircumcision,
but
a new creation.
16 And as for all who walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them,
and
upon the Israel of God.
17 From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. 18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen.
