was a Hasmonean princess and the second wife of Herod the Great.

Mariamne II was the third wife of Herod the Great. She was the daughter of Simon Boethus the High Priest. Josephus recounts their wedding thus:
She had one child by Herod, called Herod II or Herod Boethus, who married his niece, Herodias, and by her had a daughter, Salome. Mariamne II was implicated in the plot of Antipater against her husband (Herod) in 4 BCE. As a result, Herod divorced her and removed her father (Simon Boethus) as high priest.[2] Additionally, her son Herod II was removed from the line of succession in Herod's last will. / Simeon/Simon /He was the son of Simon Thassi and hence the nephew of Judas Maccabaeus, Jonathan Apphus and their siblings, whose story is told in the deuterocanonical books of 1 Maccabees and 2 Maccabees, in the Talmud, and in Josephus. John was not present at a banquet at which his father and his two brothers were murdered, by John's brother-in-law, Ptolemy, son of Abubus. He attained to his father's former offices, that of high priestand ethnarch (national leader) - but not king.[4] Josephus said that John Hyrcanus had five sons but named only four in his histories: Judah Aristobulus I,
Antigonus I, Alexander Jannai, and Absalom. was the daughter of Herod II and Herodias. According to the New Testament, the step daughter of Herod Antipas demanded and received the head of John the Baptist.
According to Josephus, Salome was first married to her uncle, Philip the Tetrarch, who reigned over Ituraea, Trachonitis and Batanaea. After Philip's death in 34 AD, she married her cousin Aristobulus of Chalcis and became queen of Chalcis and Armenia Minor. As Salome is not named in the gospel, she is sometimes referred to as "the daughter of Herodias", for example in the titles of paintings showing her.[citation needed] |

/ Mari / Meribah / Miriam / Mordicai / Mushi /
Maryam or Mariam is the Aramaic name (ܡܪܝܡ) of Mary the mother of Jesus[1][2] and of Miriam, the sister of Moses. She is mentioned in the Greek translation of the Tanakh or Old Testament known as the Septuagint, in the original Greek text of the New Testament, and in the Qur'an.[3] The name has the same form in Syriac, Georgian and Armenian. The Hebrew variant of the name is Miriam, the Latin variant is Maria. This Latin form is the one that was adopted into all modern Western European languages following Christianization. The Turkish variant is spelled Meryem.

The name may have originated from the Egyptian mry "beloved" or mr "love"[4] or the derived ancient Egyptian name Meritamen or Meri-Amun, "beloved of the God Amun".[5] Other suggestions include the word root m-r-r "bitter" (cf.myrrh), or the Hebrew root (מרי m-r-y) "rebellious", or even possibly "wished-for child", or "strong waters". Maryam is also a name of a flower (tuberose) in the Persian language.[4]
