[ The Fifth -Plague: Egyptian Livestock Die ]
9 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh and say to him,
‘Thus says the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, “Let my people go, that they may serve me.
2 For if you refuse to let them go and still hold them,
3 behold, the hand of the Lord will fall with a very severe plague upon your livestock that are in the field, the horses, the donkeys, the camels, the herds, and the flocks.
4 But the Lord will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt, so that nothing of all that belongs to the people of Israel shall die.”’”
5 And the Lord set a time, saying, “Tomorrow the Lord will do this thing in the land.”
6 And the next day the Lord did this thing. All the livestock of the Egyptians died,
but not one of the livestock of the people of Israel died.
7 And Pharaoh sent, and behold, not one of the livestock of Israel was dead.
But the heart of Pharaoh was hardened,
and
he did not let the people go.

[ The Sixth Plague: Boils ]
8 And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Take handfuls of soot from the kiln,
and
let Moses throw them in the air in the sight of Pharaoh.
9 It shall become fine dust over all the land of Egypt, and become boils breaking out in sores on man and beast throughout all the land of Egypt.”
10 So they took soot from the kiln and stood before Pharaoh. And Moses threw it in the air,
and
it became boils breaking out in sores on man and beast.
11 And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils, for the boils came upon the magicians and upon all the Egyptians.
12 But the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he did not listen to them,
as the Lord had spoken to Moses.

[ The Seventh Plague: Hail ]
13 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Rise up early in the morning and present yourself before Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of the Hebrews,
“Let my people go, that they may serve me.
14 For this time I will send all my plagues on you yourself, and on your servants and your people, so that you may know that there is none like me in all the earth.
15 For by now I could have put out my hand and struck you and your people with pestilence,
and
you would have been cut off from the earth.
16 But for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, so that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.
17 You are still exalting yourself against my people and will not let them go.
18 Behold, about this time tomorrow I will cause very heavy hail to fall, such as never has been in Egypt from the day it was founded until now.
19 Now therefore send, get your livestock and all that you have in the field into safe shelter,
for every man and beast that is in the field
and
is not brought home will die when the hail falls on them.”’”
20 Then whoever feared the word of the Lord among the servants of Pharaoh hurried his slaves and his livestock into the houses,
21 but whoever did not pay attention to the word of the Lord left his slaves
and his livestock in the field.
22 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, so that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, on man and beast and every plant of the field, in the land of Egypt.”
23 Then Moses stretched out his staff toward heaven, and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and fire ran down to the earth. And the Lord rained hail upon the land of Egypt.
24 There was hail and fire flashing continually in the midst of the hail, very heavy hail,
such as had never been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.
25 The hail struck down everything that was in the field in all the land of Egypt,
both man and beast.
And the hail struck down every plant of the field and broke every tree of the field.
26 Only in the land of Goshen, where the people of Israel were, was there no hail.
27 Then Pharaoh sent and called Moses and Aaron and said to them,
“This time I have sinned; the Lord is in the right, and I and my people are in the wrong.
28 Plead with the Lord, for there has been enough of God's thunder and hail.
I will let you go, and you shall stay no longer.”
29 Moses said to him,
“As soon as I have gone out of the city, I will stretch out my hands to the Lord.
The thunder will cease,
and there will be no more hail, so that you may know
that the earth is the Lord's.
30 But as for you and your servants, I know that you do not yet fear the Lord God.”
31 (The flax and the barley were struck down, for the barley was in the ear
and the flax was in bud.
32 But the wheat and the emmer were not struck down, for they are late in coming up.)
33 So Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh and stretched out his hands to the Lord, and the thunder and the hail ceased, and the rain no longer poured upon the earth.
34 But when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunder had ceased,
he sinned yet again and hardened his heart, he and his servants.
35 So the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people of Israel go, just as the Lord had spoken through Moses.

Exodus 19
English Standard Version (ESV)
[ Israel at Mount-Sinai ]
19 On the third- new moon after the people of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt,
on that day they came into the wilderness of Sinai.
2 They set out from Rephidim and came into the wilderness of Sinai, and they encamped
in the wilderness.
There Israel encamped before the mountain,
3 while Moses went up to God. The Lord called to him out of the mountain, saying,
“Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the people of Israel:
4 ‘You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians,
and
how I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself.
5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine;
6 and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you shall speak to the people of Israel.”
7 So Moses came and called the elders of the people and set before them all these words that the Lord had commanded him.
8 All the people answered together and said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do.”
And Moses reported the words of the people to the Lord.
9 And the Lord said to Moses,
“Behold, I am coming to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you,
and may also believe you forever.” When Moses told the words of the people to the Lord,
10 the Lord said to Moses,
“Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments
11 and be ready for the third day.
For on the third day the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.
12 And you shall set limits for the people all around,
saying,
‘Take care not to go up into the mountain or touch the edge of it.
Whoever touches the mountain shall be put to death.
13 No hand shall touch him,
but he shall be stoned or shot; whether beast or man, he shall not live.’
When the trumpet sounds a long Blast,
they
shall come up to the mountain.”
14 So Moses went down from the mountain to the people and consecrated the people;
and
they washed their garments.
15 And he said to the people, “Be ready for the third day; do not go near a woman.”
16 On the morning of the third day there were thunders and lightnings
and
a thick cloud on the mountain
and
a very loud trumpet blast, so that all the people in the camp trembled.
17 Then Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God,
and
they took their stand at the foot of the mountain.
18 Now Mount Sinai was wrapped in smoke because the Lord had descended on it in fire.
The smoke of it went up like the smoke of a kiln, and the whole mountain trembled greatly.
19 And as the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder,
Moses spoke,
and
God answered him in thunder.
20 The Lord came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain.
And the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain,
and Moses went up.
21 And the Lord said to Moses, “Go down and warn the people, lest they break through to the Lord to look and many of them perish.
22 Also let the priests who come near to the Lord consecrate themselves,
lest the Lord break out against them.”
23 And Moses said to the Lord,
“The people cannot come up to Mount Sinai, for you yourself warned us, saying,
‘Set limits around the mountain and consecrate it.’”
24 And the Lord said to him,
“Go down, and come up bringing Aaron with you.
But do not let the priests and the people break through to come up to the Lord,
lest he break out against them.”
25 So Moses went down to the people and told them.

English Standard Version (ESV)
[ The Ten Commandments ]
20 And God spoke all these words, saying,
2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
3 “You shall have no other gods before me.
4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5 You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,
6 but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days you shall labor, and do all your work,
10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you,
or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock,
or the sojourner who is within your gates.
11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them,
and rested on the seventh day.
Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
13 “You shall not murder.
14 “You shall not commit adultery.
15 “You shall not steal.
16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
17 “You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's.” 18 Now when all the people saw the thunder and the flashes of lightning and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking, the people were afraid and trembled, and they stood far off
19 and said to Moses,
“You speak to us, and we will listen; but do not let God speak to us, lest we die.”
20 Moses said to the people, “Do not fear, for God has come to test you,
that the fear of him may be before you, that you may not sin.”
21 The people stood far off, while Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was.

A Psalm of David, the servant of the Lord,
who addressed the words of this song to the Lord on the day when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul.
He said:
The Lord also thundered in the heavens,
and
the Most High uttered his voice, hail stones and coals of fire.

[ The Throne in Heaven ]
4 After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice,
which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said,
“Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”
2 At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne.
3 And he who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian, and around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald.
4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and seated on the thrones were twenty-four elders, clothed in white garments, with golden crowns on their heads.
5 From the throne came flashes of lightning, and rumblings and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God,
6 and before the throne there was as it were a sea of glass, like crystal. And around the throne, on each side of the throne, are four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind:
7 the first living creature like a lion, the second living creature like an ox, the third living creature with the face of a man, and the fourth living creature like an eagle in flight.
8 And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty,
who was and is and is to come!”
9 And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever,
10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
11 “Worthy are you, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they existed and were created.”

[ The Angel and the Little Scroll ]
10 Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven, wrapped in a cloud,
with a rainbow over his head, and his face was like the sun, and his legs like pillars of fire.
2 He had a little scroll open in his hand. And he set his right foot on the sea,
and his left foot on the land,
3 and called out with a loud voice,
like a lion roaring.
When he called out, the seven thunders sounded.
4 And when the seven thunders had sounded, I was about to write,
but I heard a voice from heaven saying,
“Seal up what the seven thunders have said, and do not write it down.”
5 And the angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven
6 and swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and what is in it, the earth and what is in it, and the sea and what is in it, that there would be no more delay,
7 but that in the days of the trumpet call to be sounded by the seventh angel, the mystery of God would be fulfilled, just as he announced to his servants the prophets.
8 Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me again,
saying,
“Go, take the scroll
that is open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.”
9 So I went to the angel and told him to give me the little scroll.
And he said to me,
“Take and eat it; it will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey.”
10 And I took the little scroll from the hand of the angel and ate it.
It was sweet as honey in my mouth,
but when I had eaten it my stomach was made bitter.
11 And I was told,
“You must again prophesy about many-peoples and nations and languages and kings.”

15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven,
saying,

and begun to reign.
18 The nations raged,
but your wrath came,
and the time for the dead to be judged,
and for rewarding your servants, the prophets and saints,

14 Then I looked, and behold, on Mount Zion stood the Lamb, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads.
2 And I heard a voice from heaven like the roar of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder. The voice I heard was like the sound of harpists playing on their harps,
3 and they were singing a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and before the elders.
No one could learn that song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.
4 It is these who have not defiled themselves with women, for they are virgins.
It is these who follow the Lamb wherever he goes.
These have been redeemed from mankind as firstfruits for God and the Lamb,
