A man of the Children of Simeon whose name was Zimri, son of Salu who connected
himself with the Midianite - Cosbi, the daughter of Zur the king of Midian,

|
/ Cozbi the Dauther of Zur / of Midian /
Zimri-Lim was the son[1] or grandson[2] of Iakhdunlim, but was forced to flee to Yamkhad when his father was assassinated by his own servants during a coup. The city was occupied by Shamshi-Adad I, the king of Assur, who put his own son Yasmah-Adad on the throne.
Shortly after the death of Shamshi-Adad I, Zimri-Lim returned from exile and was able to oust Yasmah-Adad from power with the help of Yarimlim,
the king of Yamhad.

/ Mari / of / Huram-abi /
Zimri-Lim ruled Mari for about thirteen years, and campaigned extensively to establish his power in the neighbouring areas along theEuphrates and the Khabur valley. He extended his palace in the city, which was possibly the largest at the time, and certainly the envy of other kings.
He was also active on a wider stage, and at one time (perhaps about 1764 BC) was allied with Hammurabi in his wars against Eshnunna.
Zimri-Lim's personal life is partly known through tablets preserved in the state archive of Mari. He married Shibtu, a princess of Yamkhad (Aleppo and surrounding territory), and is known to have had at least eight daughters through various wives. Several of his daughters were married to rulers of local towns, and two others are known to have become priestesses. Correspondence between the king and his daughters provides evidence that Zimri-Lim thought highly of women and considered them competent at making decisions.
In 1762 BC, Hammurabi conquered and sacked Mari (though it may be that the city had surrendered without a fight), despite the previous alliance. At this time Zimri-Lim disappears from historical view, and is presumed to have been killed.

/ Shaddai god / Another theory is that Shaddai is a derivation of a Semitic stem that appears in the Akkadian shadû ("mountain") and shaddā`û or shaddû`a ("mountain-dweller"), one of the names of Amurru. This theory was popularized by W. F. Albright but was somewhat weakened when it was noticed that the doubling of the medial d is first documented only in the Neo-Assyrian period. However, the doubling in Hebrew might possibly be secondary. In this theory God is seen as inhabiting a mythical holy mountain, a concept not unknown in ancient West Asian mythology (see El), and also evident in the Syriac Christian writings of Ephrem the Syrian, who places Eden on an inaccessible mountaintop. |

The Liturgy of Addai and Mari is a Divine Liturgy belonging to the East Syrian Rite, which is in regular use, even if in different versions, in the Assyrian Church of the East and Ancient Church of the East, the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church and the Chaldean Catholic Church.
The anaphora or Eucharistic Prayer that is part of this liturgy is of particular interest, being one of the oldest in Christianity, possibly dating back to 3rd-century Edessa,[1] even if the outline of the current form can be traced as far back only as the time of the Patriarch Mar Isho-Yab III in the 7th century. This liturgy is traditionally attributed to Saint Addai (disciple of Saint Thomas the Apostle) and Saint Mari (a disciple of Saint Addai). In the form given in the oldest manuscripts, all of the High Middle Ages, this anaphora does not include the Words of Institution, a matter that raised ecumenical concerns.

Shia Imami Ismaili teachings affirm the Shahada, the Islamic tenet that "there is no god but the One God, and Muhammad is the prophet of God." Like all Shia, Imami Ismailis regard Muhammad as having selected Ali by divine decree to succeed him as Imam, or spiritual leader of the Muslim community. The Shia Imami Ismailis believe this institution, called Imamate, has continued through an unbroken hereditary succession to the present era under the aegis of the 49th Imam, Prince Shah Karim al-Husayni Aga Khan IV.

Zaydis, like Sunni Muslims, further reject the notion of Occultation (ghayba) of the Imām.
Like the Nizaris , they believe in a living visible Imām.
Adherents of Twelver Shī'ism are commonly referred to as Twelvers,
which is derived from their belief in twelve divinely ordained leaders, known as the Twelve Imāms, and their belief that the Mahdi will be the returned
Twelfth Imam who disappeared and is believed by Twelvers to be in occultation.
A majority of Shī'a Muslims are Twelvers. The term Shi'a Muslim may also be used to refer to Zaydis and Ismailis.
